Rumor has it that Microsoft might acquire Rim. This just doesn't seem likely because of the Blackberry vs Windows Mobiles.

Blinks When You Have a Call
If you happen to be venturing somewhere noisy or somewhere very quiet, it's likely that you won't hear your cell phone ring. That's just the way it goes these days - there are plenty of places where ringing phones just aren't welcome. These light charms, from UK designer Mathmos, are the ideal accessory for anyone who wants to be alerted to their cell phone ringing without having to keep an eye on it all the time. The light charm senses when a call is being received and flashes to let you know.
They are available in two different styles that any geek will appreciate - mini lava lamp shape (the universal symbol of relaxed retro) and the light bulb (the international symbol of innovation and invention). The lava lamp (Astro) comes in Blue or Red and the bulb in Blue or White.

WHAT'S COOL
Great form factor, lightweight, and runs circles around other e-readers on the market. Users can convert most traditional text formats for use on the device.WHAT'S LAME
No color display - making graphic novels, many e-magazines, and pictures worthless to users. DRM-laden books from online store may stifle adoption.FINAL MARK: B
Certainly the best e-reader out there, but the minor flaws bring the true usefulness and cool factor down several notches.

There's no denying that the Venzero Slickr is an exquisite-looking piece of technology and a relatively capable portable video player. Unfortunately, the frustrating user interface and lack of common music player features make it a second-tier device.

Chinese designer Tao Ma has come up with what may be the coolest USB device yet: the E-Lighter, a sleekly designed USB lighter that uses your PC or laptop's power to light your cigarette.

LG has released a phone today that runs on Korea’s 4G WiBro network.
The KC1 can reach near-broadband speeds over the WiMax network and, as such, features things like remote PC controlling and video conferencing. The phone surprisingly runs Windows Mobile 5 instead of Windows Mobile 6.
It also comes with a 2.8-inch touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, 512MB of built-in memory (expandable via microSD), and digital TV compatibility.
The phone is currently available in Korea only but rumored to be offered elsewhere in the future.

Say Adios to Bad Reception
A lot of technology goes into making your cellphone work. So you would think that we would be more understanding of dropped calls and garbled conversations. Nope. Nothing gets geeks into a seething tech frenzy like poor cellphone reception... and it doesn't help that we couldn't resist the glossy black smoothness of the iPhone and AT&T sucks for cellphone service. Sad.
Well quit staring at your one-bar-worth of signal strength and pick up this handy Cellphone Signal Extender for your home or office. Simply mount the included antenna near a window and run the coax cable to the base booster unit. You get 2500 square feet of prime signal area (enough to cover 2-3 rooms on two different floors). We went from 1 bar... to 5 at the ThinkGeek secret headquarters and made our iPhones very happy in the process.
